For the second consecutive season, Darryl Jones and Tatiana David captured the decathlon and heptathlon titles in Huntsville, Ala. at the 2015 SWAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon. Jones scored a career-best 6,279 points while David posted a career best in the event with a total of 4,624 points.Sophomore Charles Hughes placed third in the decathlon after a battling back from the eighth spot on day one with a total of 5,755 points.Junior Darryl Carter jumped a career-best 24-01 in the long jump for a third place finish to earn the bronze medal. Jones finished sixth in the event with a personal best leap of 23-04.Marquis Prentiss qualified for the finals in the 400m hurdles tomorrow with a personal best time of 54.60.On the women's side, Dominique Edwards placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 43-04.50. David will go in with the third best time in the 100m hurdle finals tomorrow with a time of 14.62.Junior Brandi McCray capped off the day with a school record best time of 12:07.29 in the 3000m steeplechase and took the bronze medal for the second time in her three-year career.
