Making her second consecutive season appearing in the event for Alcorn, junior Stellah Kiptui cut 41 seconds off her career mark to finish 113th at the NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday morning.

The Alcorn Braves Women's Cross Country team will have a representative in Friday's NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships for the second consecutive season, as junior Stellah Kiptui earned her slot in the elite 313-runner field at John Hunt Park.

A day removed from winning the SWAC Women's Cross Country individual title, Alcorn's Stellah Kiptui was named National Athlete of the Week on Tuesday by the USTFCCCA from its home offices in New Orleans.

Stellah Kiptui and Runelda Jackson finished first and second, respectfully, as Alcorn Women's Cross Country took second place at the 2022 SWAC Cross Country Championships on Monday at Apalachee Regional Park.

For a league-high third time this season, Alcorn Women's Cross Country student-athlete Stellah Kiptui has been named SWAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced Monday evening by the league office.

Alcorn's Stellah Kiptui registered a seventh-place finish Friday morning, helping Alcorn Women's Cross Country as part of the Crimson Classic taking place at the Harry Pritchett Running Course on the campus of the University of Alabama.
